Cancer Association of Louisiana aka (CAGNO)
824 Elmwood Park Blvd., Suite 154
    New Orleans, LA 70123.

The Cancer Association assists local cancer patients.  CAGNO now covers 23 parishes in Louisiana with a mission to “Promote cancer survivorship and reduce health disparities through local programs of Education, Outreach and Patient Services.”   Video -Board Members Dr. Jules Walters and Heather Hays discuss their reasons for joining the Cancer Association Board of Directors.  Watch this Video and learn how we assist local Cancer Patients in Treatment.  Many times we are the last resort for cancer patients who have limited income. Our patient services program can help cover the costs of prescription pain and treatment medications, colostomy bags and comfort items (bed pads, etc.) for cancer patients who cannot afford these necessities and/or “fall through the cracks” of government assistance.  The program help 1136 cancer patients in 47 parishes in 2022.  Many of these patients have exhausted their own resources and have nowhere else to turn.  Additional financial help may be available for medical expenses such as prescription medications through other grants.                                      Breastoration, CAGNO’s latest collaboration seeks to provide ancillary financial assistance to women seeking breast reconstruction in the greater New Orleans area.  Breastoration is a donor-advised fund, and our donors can choose to designate their monies to be used for education, patient assistance, public relations, administration, or where the greatest need is.

Women seeking reconstruction in the New Orleans area who qualify for financial aid are required to complete an application process and meet certain pre-determined criteria for consideration of such assistance.

If you are a woman in need of financial assistance in order to have breast reconstruction in the greater New Orleans area, please download the Breastoration application
